About me
I spent 25 years in the printing and publishing industry, most of them with the
great Mondadori in Italy. I had the privilege of working with many of the best
British and American publishers to produce beautiful “coffee table” art books.
It was in Italy that I began to soak up the culture of art.
Whilst my day
job involved the latest and best printing technology, in my spare time I was fascinated
by the low-tech printing processes of block printing, etching and silk-screen
printing.
I felt like a big change and so opened a picture framing workshop and small gallery
on Wimbledon Broadway, modelled on some of the beautiful framing shops I had used
in Italy. That was a fascinating and satisfying time, working with many artists
to frame their work to the best effect.
Having a small gallery in the shop
also gave me an outlet for my own creative output. But there was one big problem:
- time! I was too busy framing to have time for my own painting and printing.
But now they have pulled
down my shop to make room for a new Safeway store. So instead of opening a new
high street shop I have decided to try the internet.
So
watch this space! I am a member
of the British Fine Art Trade Guild
